The pilot fills or discharges the valve chamber depending on the differential pressure generated by the water passing through a calibrated orifice. The orifice diameter determines the maximum flow rate to be limited, while the pilot allows fine-tuning. When the flow demand exceeds the set limit, the pilot partially closes the valve to restore the predefined flow rate.
